By using BetterStory ("the App"), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you download from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard EULA also applies.

What BetterStory Is

BetterStory is a serialized interactive-fiction reading app. Stories are released chapter by chapter. Some content is free; some is unlocked with a subscription or with "Coins," a virtual in-app currency.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.

Your Account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping it secure.

Acceptable Use

Don't circumvent paywalls or the Coin system, use bots or scrapers, reverse-engineer the App, or interfere with its operation.

Content

All stories and materials in the App are owned by us or our licensors. Unlocking a story lets you read it within the App; it does not transfer ownership. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, translate, or use the content to train machine-learning models.

Coins

Coins are a limited license to unlock digital content. They have no monetary value, are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-refundable except where the law requires. We may change coin prices or unlock costs at any time. Coins/subscription benefits may not be available after account deletion, app removal, or service shutdown.

Payments

Subscriptions and Coins are purchased and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by us directly. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, which you can do anytime in your Apple or Google account settings. Refunds and billing are handled under the applicable store's policies. This does not limit any consumer rights you have under local law.

Availability

We aim for reliable service but don't guarantee uninterrupted access or the availability of any specific story. Release schedules may change.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Stories are works of fiction; any resemblance to real persons or events is coincidental.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or misuse the App.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in Bengaluru, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be shown in the App and reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
